Knead and pinch

Smooth with water

Air dry completely

Paint and seal

Warm a golf-ball portion of clay between your palms until soft, then press your thumb into the center to shape low, even walls.

Dip a single fingertip into cool water to glide over rough surface ridges, smoothing creases before setting the rim on flat parchment.

Leave your formed dish undisturbed on a wire rack or baking sheet for twenty-four full hours until the surface turns chalky white.

Brush two coats of soft acrylic pastel paint across the dry clay, finishing with clear gloss varnish to protect against everyday desk moisture.

Yarn work

Two simple loops

Foundation

Tying the slip knot

Twist your yarn into a gentle pretzel loop and draw the working strand up through the center before tightening gently around your hook shaft.

Consistency

Holding yarn tension

Drape the working strand over your pointer finger and hold the project base firmly with your thumb so each pulled loop stays identical in width.
